DO NOT USE DESITIN ON KITTENS!!! The main ingredient in Desitin is zinc oxide which is EXTREMELY TOXIC to cats, especially kittens. If ingested (which it probably will be due to grooming or other kittens in the litter) it can be FATAL.

When the diarrhea stops, the skin will heal fully. Just like human babies, the kitten needs to gradually work its way up to solid foods (weaning).

Please don't use vaseline- instead use Desitin Baby Ointment. Use it sparingly, a little bit goes a long way. All the workers and volunteers at the shelter give this kitten a warm bum bath and apply desitin but it doesn't seem to be getting any better.
