And long term would involve at least 20 years, probably longer. As far as cancer, the alternatives are quitting entirely, or smoking, which has been proven to cause cancer.

I think I will press my luck with vaping. Studies have shown risk factors for brain tumors include ionizing radiation from high dose X-rays, and possibly family history. Almost everything causes cancer but so far hadn't heard of anyone getting it from vaping. As for is it bad we don't know the long term effects but its significantly more healthy then cigarettes. IMO I don't think it's unhealthy as long as you get quality juice.

Smokers have much lower chance of surviving most diseases because of the damage smoking does to your immune system amongst other things. vaping is not smoking though and you would be better off looking at the epidemological studies of long term Swedish snus users , as they are lifelong nicotine consumers , but not smokers . Nicotine does not cause cancer, one of the interesting things nicotine does, however, is break down monoamine oxidase. Monoamine oxidase destroys dopamine, an important chemical found to be low in people with parkinson's and alzheimers disease. Nicotine does not cause cancer, the other substances in a cigarette, like tars do. But there are thousands of types of cancer, some developing slower some others a lot faster.
Generally the cause of cancer is some repetitive external stimulus causing the organism to defend itself and create extra tissue growing into tumors, carcinoma. Yes, over-exposure to the sun can cause cancer, but you can't say there's "not a single case of cancer caused by vaping" -- because you don't know. ...., for the longest time we didn't know cigarettes caused cancer. Before that correlation was made you could have (un)safely said, "Cigarettes do not cause cancer".
